PBA 2015 News: GlobalPort Batang Pier dismantled Purefoods Star Hotshots, 101-94, this Friday evening in the PBA Philippine Cup 2015 at the SM MOA Arena in Pasay. Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo powered the unstoppable GlobalPort machine with their 23 and 20 big points respectively.
Batang Pier used a 14-2 fourth quarter surge with Pringle and Romeo leading the pack to establish an insurmountable double digit lead, 91-75. Globalport weaved their run-and-gun motion offense to full effect and made Star Hotshots look old in cruch time.
Purefoods had no ready answer for the fast-combo of Romeo and Pringle who kept on attacking the rim both from the inside and the outside range.
GlobalPort went 42% in fieldgoal clip and was 10 of 32 from the trey territory. They also outrebounded Star, 52-48.
Doug Kramer also contributed 14 markers and 10 caroms for the Batang Pier cause.
Meanwhile, Star missed the services of injured Rafi Reavis who had a fractured finger, and also Allein Maliksi who was served an indefinite suspension by the Star management.
Marc Pingris tried to rescue Star to no avail as he dropped 14 markers and 7 rebounds for the hotshots, while the heavily outplayed Mark Barroca chipped-in 13 buckets.
Globalport will next battle Barako Bull on November 8, while Star Hotshots will be playing against NLEX Road Warriors later in the main game.
