PBA 2015 News: Alaska Aces hammered Blackwater Elite, 87-79, this Friday payday in the PBA Philippine Cup 2015 at the SM MOA Arena in Pasay. Chris Banchero and “Muscle Man” Vic Manuel led the Aces with 13 points apiece, while Tony Dela Cruz and JVee Casio chipped-in 11 and 10 buckets respectively.
Fresh out of his stint in FIBA 3×3, Manuel showed another impressive performance after his 22 point and 10 rebound rampage against Talk N Text in their first match. For this game, Manuel led the Aces with 13 markers and 7 caroms and proved to be a vital cog for Alaska’s campaign in the PBA.
Banchero also showed his mettle as he managed to drop his 13 points in only 17 minutes on the floor.
The final score was not an indicator of the see-saw battle that Alaska and Blackwater waged all throughout the ballgame. The Elite never backed down until the dying minutes as the lead changed hands multiple times.
Alaska is now sporting a commanding 2-0 win-loss slate in the Philippine Basketball Association 2015 Philippine Cup, while Blackwater dropped its second game and placed 0-2 in the standings.
JP Erram led the losing cause of Blackwater with 13 markers and 9 rebounds, while Reil Cervantes hauled 11 baskets.
Alaska will next battle Kia Mahindra Enforcers in an out of town game in Dubai on November 6, as the Elite will go to war opposite the Meralco Bolts on November 4.
