PBA 2017 News: San Miguel defeated Ginebra, 91-85, and brought home the three-peat championship crown in the PBA Philippine Cup 2017 at the Araneta Coliseum this Sunday. San Miguel ended the series with 4-1 finals slate. “The Kraken” Junemar Fajardo and “Spiderman” Arwind Santos topbilled for the dominant Beermen with 21 big points apiece.

Ginebra was still within striking distance with 2:28 remaining in the crucial frame, courtesy of LA Tenorio‘s trey, 83-84. San Miguel turned back the momentum, as they gunned for a 7-2 blitz run. Santos then sealed Game 5 for SMB with a powerful dunk in the dying seconds of the ballgame.
The Beermen massacred the Gin Kings in the rebounds department, hauling a 57-29 boards game total. The halftime score also favored San Miguel as they led in double digits, 51-41, at the half.

Japeth Aguilar consoled Ginebra with his 26 baskets and 16 boards while “JDV” Joe Devance and Sol “Train” Mercado contributed 20 points each.
