• Trivia:
Marlou Aquino played as part of the dreaded “Twin Towers” in the PBA. Once when he teamed-up with fellow giant EJ Feihl in Ginebra, and second with Denis Espino in Sta Lucia in 2001.

Before moving-up to the PBA, Marlou lorded it ove the PBL as he won a record five (5) MVP trophies as part of Stag and Otto.

• His Memorable Quote:
• “I’m proud of my career. Naka ilang national team din ako. Naka ilang championships din. 15 years! Wala naman akong regrets although sana hindi na lang tumatanda ang player.”
• What others said:
“His lay to claim might be this; that at 6’9, he was the first skilled 6’9 big man the PBA ever saw,” according to Jason Webb a former PBL and PBA teammate.
“I think he could have achieved more milestones. If he played the way he could really play,” quipped Richard Del Rosario former Sta Lucia teammate.

Marlou Aquino more than held his own against the bigs of Asia when he suited-up for the Philippine Basketball Team. Marlou dominated the paint against China in the 1998 Asian Games against towers Bateer Menke and Wang Zhi Zhi, where the Filipinos lost 82-73. RP was the only team to lose by single digit opposite formidable China. Marlou also made it hard for Korean center Seo Jang Hoon in their 1994 Asiad battle. However, South Korea used the motion defense to stifle RP Five in 1998, as Seo pounded it hard against Aquino and Feihl combination.

Chinese players respected Aquino’s inside game back then that they were dumbfounded that caoch Jong Uichico did not include Marlou Aquino in the 2002 line-up.
