Robert Jaworski Player Profile "The Living Legend" Philippine Basketball Team

Jaworski started with the PBA in pioneer year 1975 and served many victorious Philippine Basketball teams.

• Trivia:
One of the rare pure Point Guards to have ever won a PBA MVP award, Jaworski dominated the 1978 season with 10.20 Rebounds, 8.24 Assists and 20.42 Points per game. What made this feat special was that the PBA season featured reinforcement imports with unlimited height.
• His Memorable Quote:
• "Kung ayaw mo masaktan, mag-chess ka na lang." • "Hindi porke maganda sapatos mo mananalo ka. Kapag masipag ka, kahit luma sapatos mo, may tsansa ka." • "Ako, kapag tinaga mo ako sa kaliwang braso, bagoong at dinuguan ang lalabas sa akin" • "It's tough but I always say, I would rather play against a good team and show my best and try and win than play against a joker team and lose."
• What others said:
"I am just mentally prepared and I owe all of this to Sonny Jaworski, He was a great player back in his days, I watched film on his games and I had much respect for him. He was a great basketball player and still has a bunch of knowledge to give to the young athletes." said Tony Harris when he made 105 points against Jaworski's team

Robert Jaworski Player Profile:
The historic battle between the guest NCC Team and Ginebra will forever be etched in the annals of PBA records and may have probably immortalized the tag "Never Say Die" attitude to Jaworski. The "Big J" received an incidental elbow from NCC import Jeff Moore in the 2nd canto of the game, resulting to a bloody gash to Jaworski's face. Jawo was then sent to the hospital for stitches. As Ginebra trailed NCC by big 15 deficit in the 4th quarter, Sonny bandaged and all, came back to the roar of the crowd and led Ginebra in a come-from-behind surprise victory. Jaworski's legend continues to the present generation. As long as a Ginebra team in the PBA exists, Jaworski will always be a legacy foretold time and again.• Robert Jaworski Player Profile
