In the 1956 MICAA Season, Loyzaga led the YCO Painters to 40 consecutive wins, as well as 7 uninterrupted National Open – MICAA Championship titles from 1954 to 1960. For the record, Loyzaga compiled an incredible 58-14 win-loss slate in international competitions, with 41-3 in the Asian scene. Once labeled “Famoso” by spanish book “El Libro de Oro del Basket”, Caloy started playing at the age of 12 and honed his iconic hoop skills at the sandlots of Tervalac in Teresa, Sampaloc. In a poll made by 43 international sportswriters, Loyzaga was enshrined as member of “World’s Top 10 Players”.
