UAAP: University of the East Red Warriors blasts Adamson University Soaring Falcons, 89-78, to go 2-1 in the UAAP Season 78 Men’s Basketball this Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Quezon City. Rising star Edison Batiller impressed with 23 Points, 8 Assists, 6 Steals, and 53% shooting fieldgoal shooting. Paul Varilla also contributed 14 markers, 6 caroms, and 3 dishes, while Clark Derige made 12 points and 10 boards.

Ang bagong pambato ng UE na si Edison Batiller ay nagpabilib sa kanyang 23 Puntos, 8 Assists, 6 Agaw, at 53% porsiyento sa fieldgoal. Maging si Paul Varilla ay naglatag ng 14 buslo, 6 rebounds, at 3 pasa, gayundin si Clark Derige na gumawa ng 12 puntos at 10 rebounds.
Adamson managed to bring the UE lead down to 7 Points with a 72-79 score, thanks to a 10-0 blast capped by the converted charities of Frederick Tungcab. However, UE bounced back with Batiller and Palma teaming-up for consecutive baskets in crunch time to ensure the Warriors victory.
The Red Warriors led by as much as 17 in the latter half, with UE taking advantage of Adamson errors. The Falcons blundered with a dismal 25 total turnovers and gave away 24 gift points to UE as a result. University of the East also made 28 total Assists.
Tungcab topscored for the cellar dwelling Falcons with his 16 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists, and 3 Steals. Unfortunately, Frederick also accounted for 8 turnovers. Nico Capote chipped-in 15 points, while Joseph Nalos scored 14 markers.
Adamson is now saddled with a 0-3 win-loss slate.
The Red Warriors will next face Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles. The Soaring Falcons meanwhile will battle a determined DLSU Green Archers the next day.
