UAAP 2015: Kiefer Ravena towed Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles over Adamson Soaring Falcons, 87-72, in the Season 78 UAAP Men’s Basketball this Saturday October 17 at the SM MOA Arena Pasay City. Ravena almost finished with a triple double as he made 20 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 2 steals.

Muntik ng umabot sa triple-doble si Ravena matapos magtala ng 20 puntos, 8 rebounds, 11 assists at 2 agaw.

Ravena topped his 20-point explosion with an impressive 11 assists total. It serves as the most assists made in the UAAP after the 12 dimes previously recorded by Terrence Romeo.

Von Pessumal also contributed 17 baskets, while freshman Aaron Black dropped 14 markers and 4 caroms for the Blue Eagles.

Reinforcement Pape Sarr led the losing cause of Adamson with 16 points and 9 boards while Frederick Tungcab dropped 12 buckets.




The ballgame was marred by a near scuffle after two unsportsmanlike fouls were assessed on Joseph Nalos of Adamson and Ravena. Nalos held on to the head of Ateneo’s Vince Tolentino as he was falling down the floor.

Ravena came to the defense of his teammate and shoved Nalos. Nalos was thrown out after the incident, while Kiefer received only the unsportsmanlike call.

The Blue Eagles made 50% from the trey territory and also 50% from the fieldgoal clip. They also dominated the boards with 43-30.

With the victory, Ateneo barged to the third spot in UAAP standings after two straight defeats, tying DLSU Green Archers with a 5-4 win-loss slate.

The Soaring Falcons meanwhile dropped to a 1-8 win-loss record.

ADMU will next battle the UST Growling Tigers on Wednesday, while Adamson will face National University later in the same day.
