Gilas Pilipinas smites menace India with an 85-76 beating in Incheon South Korea Asian Games 2014. Jeffrei “Negros Sniper” Chan exploded with Three Point howitzers to lift the Philippine Basketball Team against the hapless South Asians with 14 big points. Chan paired with the comebacking center Marcus “Big Daddy” Douthit who dropped 14 markers likewise. LA “El Tinyente” Tenorio jumpstarted with 10 points to lead a brilliant 1st quarter for the RP Five.

Nagpakawala ng mga bomba mula sa tres si Jeffrei “Negros Sniper” Chan para pangunahan ang Pilipinas sa 14 puntos. Maging ang nagbabalik na sentro na si Marcus “Big Daddy” Douthit ay tumikada ng 14 puntos. Naglaglag naman ng 10 puntos si LA “El Tinyente” Tenorio para sa umaatikabong unang quarter para sa koponan ng mga Pinoy.

RP Five led throughout the ballgame but the pesky Indians kept on climbing back with their version of 12 streaky treys. A mix of full court press and hard-nose defense, however, played a major factor for the Filipino quintet. The Filipinos showed solid composure to register their first victory in Incheon. The win unfortunately was tainted by an accidental injury to an Indian point guard.

Team Pilipinas at one point led by as many as 19 points. Six Gilas Pilipinas cagers scored in double figures. “El Granada” Gary David finally showed his mettle with big 13, while Junmar “The Kraken” Fajardo unloaded 12 markers. Japeth “Like it’s Hot” Aguilar contributed easy 10 points.

The Pinoy Five shot 32-61 clip with a respectable 52% field goal percentage. Pilipinas Basketball squad also ended with a 9 out of 20 shooting from the rainbow country. On the contrary, Gilas squandered several ball possessions with a horrible 20 turnovers.
