Philippine Basketball upcoming phenom Kobe Paras is abruptly ending his basketball career with LA Cathedral. The celebrated teen dunker was invited in several US Basketball camps together with the AAU Compton Magic.

Coach William Middlebrooks shared the story to the LA Times, intimating that Paras dilemma was caused by the difference in academic calendars in the United States and the Philippines.

It was reported that the family of Kobe opted for him not suit-up for the Cathedral for just half of the basketball season.

“Due to the difference in academic calendars between the United States and the Philippines, Kobe would exhaust his eight semesters of eligibility at the end of the 1st semester this year,” stated Middlebrooks as quoted by LA Times.

The Filipino youngster played two years already for La Salle Greenhills in the Philippine NCAA Juniors before going to the USA.

Though he will no longer play basketball for Cathedral, he would still attend classes in the same highschool as reported.

The son of PBA legend Benjie Paras, Kobe will instead play basketball for the Middlebrooks Academy Team while he is finishing the last remaining semester with Cathedral. He is set to go to UCLA for his College education.
