Gilas managed a 32% Fieldgoal clip compared to their European counterpart who had 56%. Pilipinas Basketball also shot 17% from the rainbow arc for a 4 of 23 treys while the opposition got 27%. In addition, RP Five pulled down 35 rebounds against 37, but turned the ball over 21 times against 15.
Gilas got severely outgunned in the third canto, managing to score only four points against the Dutch’s 29. The third quarter decided the game for the hapless Filipinos as it was the only time that Netherlands made the breakaway. The Pinoy quintet made haphazard effort to climb back into the game, but only managed to score 20 points in the final frame contrary to Holland’s 21.
It remains to be seen if the Filipinos can muster fighting form in time as it is not only lacking in preparation, but is hampered by missing key players in the roster.

Boycott all SMC products and teams. That is the only principled response to SMC’s unpatriotic act of preventing its players from joining the national team.
