CESAFI Finals 2015: University of San Carlos Warriors is one victory away from the crown as they handily beat the University of Visayas Green Lancers, 87-76, in the Finals of CESAFI Season 15 this Thursday at the Cebu Coliseum. Reinforcement Shooster Olago pounded the way for the Warriors with 32 monster baskets, while Ian Tagapan contributed 20 points.
Filipino: CESAFI 2015 • Isang panalo na lang ang kailangan ng University of San Carlos Warriors upang makamit ang kampeonato matapos nitong talunin ang University of Visayas Green Lancers, 87-76, sa Finals ng CESAFI Season 15 ngayon Huwebes sa Cebu Coliseum. Ang import na si Shooster Olago ang humataw para sa Warriors sa kanyang mala-halimaw na 32 puntos, at maging si Ian Tagapan ay naglaglag ng kanyang 20 basket.
The Warriors needed the latter half to stymie the grand effort of the Green Lancers as Jun Manzo of UV dominated in the first half with his 21 points.
Olago refused to go down as he uncorked 27 of his 32 markers in the fourth quarter to lead USC. He also topped his scoring output with 16 big rebounds.
Though UV led the first half with a 42-38 halftime cushion, USC fought back with a 12-2 blast to surge ahead in the second half with a 50-44 lead.
USC’s Charles Pepito finally woke-up from his scoring slump as he helped the Warriors with his double-double 10 baskets and 13 boards.
Manzo finished with 25 points, but was limited to only four markers in the latter half as USC clamped down defensively. Arvie Cavanero also helped the losing Green Lancers with his 11 baskets.
The CESAFI hostilities will resume Saturday as UV and USC duel in their Game Four Finals matchup.
