UAAP 2015: University of the Philippine Fighting Maroons whipped struggling Adamson University Soaring Falcons, 89-84, in the Season 78 UAAP Men’s Basketball this Saturday October 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. UP got the boost from Henry Asilum who made 19 impressive points, while Jett Manuel added 16 baskets and 8 rebounds.

Nakakuha ng tulak ang UP mula kay Henry Asilum na nagkamada ng 19 puntos, at maging si Jett Manuel ay nagdagdag ng 16 buslo at 8 rebounds.

UP banked on balanced team scoring to hinder the Adamson rally and open its second round of eliminations debut with a five-point victory. Backcourt leader Diego Dario also made 14 markers, 5 dimes and 2 steals, while Agustuni Amar also had 13 baskets.

The game was hotly contested and highly physical with the two squads totalling a whopping 61 game fouls. A brief altercation between coach Rensy Baajar and Adamson player Jerome Garcia after an accidental bump in the tight final minute. Cooler heads prevailed as UP assistant mentor Allan Gregorio assisted Garcia back to the Falcons bench.




Adamson reinforcement Pape Sarr exploded with a double double 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Jerome Garcia contributed 12 baskets and 4 dishes for the losing Falcons.

UP arrested a dismal 5-game losing streak. The Maroons now sport a 3-5 slate in UAAP 78.

Adamson continued their losing woes as they dropped deeper to a 1-7 win-loss slate. Coincidentally, their lone victory came from UP whom they beat just a week ago.
