CESAFI: University of San Carlos Warriors outlasted University of Cebu Webmasters, 87-73, this Tuesday to wrestle solo lead in Season 15 of CESAFI (Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.) Men’s Basketball at the Cebu Coliseum. Ian Tagapan powered the Warriors with 20 points and 9 rebounds, while Victor Rabat chipped-in 17 markers.

Men’s Basketball sa Cebu Coliseum. Buong lakas na binuhat ni Ian Tagapan ang Warriors sa kanyang 20 puntos at 9 rebounds, at gayundin si Victor Rabat ay nagtala ng 17 buslo.
The Webmasters were still trailing the Warriors by only 6 points into the 3-minute mark, but Gio Laguyo and Tagapan drained consecutive getaway points to cushion the lead further, 77-67.
Four USC cagers registered double figures with Tagapan leading the way. Import Shooster Olago was given limited minutes and only made six markers.
UC dropped to a 4-7 win-loss slate. The defeat most likely knocked out the Webmasters for the CESAFI Final Four race.
JR Puerto topbilled for UC with 22 big points but was not enough as he got limited support from the rest of Webmasters cast, with Justine Dacalos contributing only 11 markers.
UC will next face a strong USJR squad for a bleak possibility of barging into the semis.
